Hopedale is a little hamlet (population 17, + 5 dogs & 3 cats) just outside the village of Alstonefield, about seven miles from Ashbourne. We are less than a mile from the river Dove and the walk to Dovedale.

From Alstonefield follow the signs down the hill towards Wetton and Dovedale. We are at the bottom of the hill.

From Dovedale and Ilam stay on the road to Wetton. At the end of this road turn right, and you will see us directly in front of you.

From Hartington follow the signs to Alstonefield

From Ashbourne get on the A515 going north towards Buxton, passing through Fenny Bently and past Tissington. Take a left marked Alstonefield and Milldale. Follow the road down to and across the River Dove. Bear left towards Milldale. Stay on this road past Milldale until you reach The Watts Russell Arms.

From Buxton and the north get on the A515 going south take a right turn marked Alstonefield and Milldale. Follow the road down to and across the River Dove. Bear left towards Milldale. Stay on this road past Milldale until you reach The Watts Russell Arms.
